“Having successfully developed MainWin for running Windows NT
applications on UNIX, Mainsoft announced yesterday plans to develop
a version of MainWin that will allow Windows applications to run on
the Linux OS.”

Mainsoft’s Linux strategy will initially focus on Red Hat’s
version of Linux. Spokespersons for the company suggest that
MainWin programs for other distributions are likely to
follow.

“Our decision to move into the Linux marketplace has been
customer and market driven,” said Yaacov Cohen, president and Chief
Operating Officer of Mainsoft. “With MainWin for Linux, companies
will now have the technology required to re-host Windows NT
applications to the Linux platform.”
