There has been much talk about Mobile Linux applications,
that is, running your laptop, car or embedded system on Linux. I
decided to reverse the idea, and instead make a Linux Mobile

(which I pronounce “mow bile”, being Australian; others may
pronounce it “mow beel” or “mow bee lay”).”

“The Macquarie Dictionary and Thesaurus defines “mobile” rather
tersly as “n 1 sculpture adj 2 changeable 3 flowing 4 moving”. The
word sounds like something brought across from France during the
many invasions which Britain has endured. In the original tongue
probably sounds nicer and probably means something like “moving” (I
must ask babelfish sometime). The Linux Mobile is all of these, and
it also runs Linux.”
