Linux-Mandrake Security Update Advisory

Package name:=09=09dhcp
Date:=09=09=09July 21th, 2000
Advisory ID:=09=09MDKSA-2000:022

Affected versions:=097.0, 7.1

Problem Description:

All versions of the ISC DHCP client program, dhclient, are
vulnerable to a root attack by a corrupt DHCP server. This version
fixes the vulnerability. Versions of Linux Mandrake prior to 7.0,
while including the ISC DHCP server, do not include the DHCP client
and are therefore not subject to this vulnerability.

Please verify these md5 checksums of the updates prior to
upgrading to ensure the integrity of the downloaded package. You
can do this by running the md5sum program on the downloaded package
by using “md5sum package.rpm”.

from one of our FTP server mirrors and uprade with “rpm -Uvh
package_name”.

You can download the updates directly from:

ftp://ftp.linux.tucows.com/pub/distributions/Mandrake/Mandrake/updates

ftp://ftp.free.fr/pub/Distributions_Linux/Mandrake/updates

Or try one of the other mirrors listed at:

Updated source RPMs are available as well, but you generally do not
need to download them.

to update, so if you want an immediate upgrade, please use one of
