Linux: OpenType Font Challenge

[ Thanks to Gene
Alexander
for this link. ]

“I am always up for a challenge. Especially if I get to learn
something new. Since I really have no clue what defines an
‘OpenType font’, this will obviously teach me something. My goal?
To see if this is truly a difficult task, or if the challenger is
just another anti-Linux FUDster that is too ignorant to know how
easy it can be to administer a Linux PC. This person does not
really explain what is meant by ‘all apps’, so I am guessing that
to mean usable in Office suites and programs like The GIMP by any
user on the PC to set the font for creating documents and text in
graphics.”
