Linux Resources: Owning Linux

“… for each new identifiable niche that can be filled by
Linux, there must be some company (or individual) willing to make
an effort to take “ownership” of the effort to serve that niche.
Such “ownership-taking”… will help ensure that talent and effort
are focused on making Linux a viable solution to as many different
users as possible, while at the same time strengthening weak
aspects of Linux. And… with vendors focused on certain aspects of
Linux, it will prevent a monopolistic entity from seizing control
of the entire Linux market.”

“If you really consider all the different ways Linux can serve
users, and all the work yet to be done by Linux vendors to take
“ownership” of that work, there is still no way any firm, let alone
Red Hat Software, can dominate the Linux market in an adverse
manner.”
