Linux Today Back Online – Expect Oddities However

The new systems are in place, but there is a lot of HTML static
files to be generated out of our database… Expect that you might
find some broken links during the new 2 or 3 hours while my scripts
regenerate the entire Linux Today website.

Linux Today is now being served off 2 computers:

3po: This is a dual Pentium II 300Mhz, 256MG RAM and (2) 9g SCSI
III drives. Furnished by Bynari
Systems
.
r2: This is the machine that has been serving Linux Today for the
past few months – single processor Pentium II 350Mhz, 256MG RAM. I
did upgrade the harddrive on this from a 4g narrow to a 9g
wide.

3po is our mail server, dns server, and most importantly, our
database server. It houses the mysql stuff.

r2 is the front-line web server, who builds 99.9% of the site
from 3po into static HTML files, who are then served to you, the
web browser.

The system is being hosted on a DS-3 in Dallas, Texas, by
Hex.net.

Thanks for everyone’s patience with all the downtime today, and
we hope to be back in 100% full operation again within the next
couple hours.
