Ready with enterprise-class services across all platforms,
including Dell Computer servers, workstations, and desktops

Linuxcare, Inc., today announced the addition of Red Hat Linux
6.0 to its broad portfolio of supported Linux distributions. Red
Hat 6.0, the latest version of the vendor’s Linux software, arrives
in selected retail outlets starting today.

“We have been following Red Hat 6.0 for some time via Red Hat’s
`Rawhide’ pre-release program,” said David Sifry, Linuxcare Chief
Technical Officer. “When the final release became available for
download, we performed installation and operational tests on a wide
variety of Intel-based hardware platforms. That’s why we’re able to
resolve customer support incidents in time for the arrival of the
retail version of the package.”

Linuxcare also announced its ability to support Red Hat Linux
6.0 on preinstalled server, workstation, and desktop systems from
Dell Computer. Dell will begin shipping computers preinstalled with
Red Hat 6.0 this week. The systems include a new addition to Dell’s
Linux platforms, the OptiPlex(r) desktop line. As part of its core
testing procedures, Linuxcare certified the Optiplex line for use
with all major Linux distributions.

Linuxcare is the primary support partner for preinstalled Linux
systems from Dell Computer. Dell bundles a Linuxcare support coupon
in every system sold with Linux pre-installed.
