Real Time Linux Workshop being held this November in Orlando,
Florida. Here is an overview of the purpose and scope of the

“The RTL community expressed their interest in a uniform and
standardized API which they can rely on. Moreover, for most of them
and especially for industry, the existence of such an API with a
certain continuity and consistency guaranteed for a longer period,
constitutes a basic requirement and condition for the use of RTL.
The necessity to form a group that would be in charge of this task
was therefore obvious. But who . . . ?”
“Inspired by the Embedded Linux Consortium launched by Rick
Lehrbaum earlier this year, the need for a similar solution applied
to Real Time Linux became evident. Only an independent platform can
guarantee a basis for future development, as is true for so
many things on the Internet. Therefore, the creation of a Real Time
Linux Consortium was discussed with the major developers, and they
agreed. For this reason, a kick-off meeting is planned at the Real
Time Linux Workshop on 29 November (Orlando, FL) in order to form
such a group.”
