“Terra Soft Solutions and FSMLabs have announced that
RTLinux for PowerPC will be included in the next release of Terra
Soft’s Black Lab Linux distribution, and also in future releases of
Champion Server.
RTLinux adds hard realtime capabilities to
Linux, allowing Linux to reliably control machines, robots, data
acquisition devices, telecommunications switches, and other systems
having precise timing constraints.”

“RTLinux on the PowerPC offers realtime interrupt handlers with
worst case latencies under 14 microseconds and precise periodic
thread scheduling. RTLinux follows the POSIX 1003.13 PSE51 profile:
it is a small, highly optimized, realtime kernel where the POSIX
threads and signals API’s available to support hard realtime
applications running close to the bare machine.”
