“One of the really nice things about going to LinuxWorld
Expo last week was meeting gnu/linux users and developers from
around the world.
It is a quick reminder of how big this whole
gnu/linux thing is, and at the same time, how communal we all are.
I was fortunate enough to interview one of the real gems of the
international gnu/linux security community, Renato Murilo Langona,
of Linux Security Brazil.
Linux Security Brazil is a
portuguese equivalent to LinuxLock, and Renato is excited to be
giving back to the community.”

linuxlock: Who are you? Both inside and
outside LinuxSecurity.com.br?

Renato: My name is Renato Murilo Langona, 21, I
work as a security analyst and systems administrator/consultant for
several companies in Brazil and try to contribute as much as I can
for the Brazilian Linux and Open Source community with security
related information as a manner of paying everything they gave me
for free (information, support, friendship, etc) when I needed…
Inside LinuxSecurity Brasil I am its administrator, responsable for
its content, security and everything else except the “money guy”
:-)”

linuxlock: Is GNU/Linux an accepted platform
for Security Solutions in Brazil?

Renato: Sure it is, not just because it’s much
less expensive comparing to other commercial solutions, but because
it SHOWED to be a strong, extremely easy (from a point of view) to
implement, with lots of support and above of everything
