“If Linus Torvalds would have known, that a project he developed
while labouring for his certificate, would one day have it’s own
certificate, he would have well…er… been the first to offer
one. But has he? One can only wonder why? But this doesn’t mean
that a Linux Certificate is useless… or does it…?

“Before we get to the debate at hand, let’s digress and find out
what exactly is a certificate. A certificate is basically a piece
of paper with lots of hype attached to it. What exactly is on the
certificate, depends. But it generally includes, for what course,
from where and those god damn grades. Now a certificate is required
essentially to isolate ‘a few’ from ‘the all.’ You are the all when
you go for job interviews. It is common-sense, that ‘the person’ on
the other side will be more comfortable to recruit someone with a
certificate than someone without. Why? Because that’s what ‘the
person’ wants to be. Comfort is the key word here. And from the
all, whom he possibly can’t test, he will rely on those with the
backing of institutions behind them. Here, I must comment. It’s not
neccesary that a person with a certificate is the best person for
the job. But that’s a chance, “the person” is ready to take…”
