The LinuxWorld Conference and Expo promises to showcase an
array of products, services, lectures given by industry leaders,
and–oh, yeah–some guy named Linus.

“The show is scheduled to run from August 14-17 in San Jose,
Calif. Among the show’s special events: A $25,000 IDG/Linus
Torvalds Community Award, presented by Linus Torvalds, creator of
Linux and Charlie Greco, CEO of IDG World Expo. The expo also plans
a “.org pavilion,” where attendees can come together in a special
designated area dedicated to the Linux non-profit organizations,
and a History of Linux Showcase….”

“The expo is designed to provide a forum within which Linux
developers and major companies will be able to share their
knowledge and real-world solutions for using Linux to power
mission-critical applications and service offerings, the release
from IT World says. The event is planned to enable the attendees to
evaluate, demonstrate and be trained on the latest tools, services
and technology products. The expo is also geared to educate
attendees in the successful implementation of Linux in day-to-day
business operations.”
