“Moonlight Systems, a pre-initial public offering (IPO) company
launched June 26, plans to base its enterprise-grade operations on
Linux’s swelling server market segment and focuses its products on
infrastructure applications for large deployments. These
applications are expected to debut this fall.”

“As you may know, Linux is very strong and growing in the server
environment, particularly Web servers,” said Carla McMorris,
Moonlight spokesperson. “Moonlight Systems will develop
applications where Linux is the strongest, at the server-level.
These applications are focused on large server deployments that we
see in ASP’s that provide Web-based services to clients, ISP’s,
large sites and corporate IT departments.”

“Two product families are currently under development, McMorris
said. “The first is a system for centrally managing the
configurations of large collections of similar servers,” she
explained. “It does this by generating the configurations
centrally, then distributing them to the managed servers.” “The
second,” she continued, “is a robust, secure mail transfer agent
(MTA) solution that will feature an intuitive installer and an
easy-to-use diagnostic interface.”
