“The universal language is what, again? Multilingual sites and
programs continue to make language barriers less important. One
such program, El Corrector, is the result of a collaboration
between Quebec-based Machina Sapiens and programmers and linguists
from Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. The application
provides a grammar-checking and language-instruction tool for
Spanish-speaking Linux users.”

“El Corrector is based on Machina Sapiens’ Artificial
Intelligence (AI) software, resulting in a more computational
processing of the text. “Whereas the majority of other products
check only the spelling of a document and propose a simple list of
replacement words for misspelled words, El Corrector performs a
detailed grammatical analysis of sentences in Spanish,” said Claude
Coulombe, vice president of Machina Sapiens.”
