“Miles O’Neal juggles a great many projects, such as
cyberdentistry, creative writing, and the recycling of road kill.
He helps run a Christian youth camp, collects postcards, and
recently managed an online charity auction (the top bidder bought
the right to determine O’Neal’s next haircut). Most important to
the free software community, though, is his work as head of the
GIMP FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) project.”

“GIMP, the GNU Image Manipulation Program, is free software for
creating and editing images, similar in function to Adobe
PhotoshopTM. O’Neal first encountered the GIMP project in its very
early stages. He quickly recognized its potential, as well as its
need for assistance. Today, the community owes some of GIMP’s code
and a large part of its online documentation to his efforts.”

Through his involvement with the project, O’Neal has
developed some insights about its future.
He recently
consented to an interview with LinuxNews.com to discuss his
thoughts on the subject.”
