LinuxPower reviews “Nemesis”

“In fact as far as I’m aware this is the first work of fiction
to mention our favorite operating system…. unless of course you
count various press releases from Microsoft.”

“There is a lot of talk of computer hardware, and mostly Bill
used what he was familiar with, what he used every day. Armagh
Observatory runs more than 30 Linux machines as everything from
X-Terminals to Beowulf clusters and this is reflected in the novel
around page 275 IIRC. Bill doesn’t get the computer jargon down to
quite the same level of accuracy or fluency as his space science
but then again it isn’t the main focus of the story.”

“If you’ve ever wondered what the real science, technology and
statistics behind the cosmic impact hazard are then this book
explains it. Buy It.”
