FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – October 16, 2001 – IDG
World Expo announced today that Carly Fiorina, chairman and CEO of
Hewlett-Packard Company, will present the opening keynote address
at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, held January 29 –
February 1, 2002 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention
Center. Sanjay Kumar, president and CEO of Computer Associates, and
William Zeitler, senior vice president and group executive of IBM’s
Server Group, will also present keynotes at the event.

Fiorina, Kumar and Zeitler will join Linux suppliers, users and
enthusiasts at the upcoming event, held for the third time in New
York City. The event, which is the world’s most comprehensive
marketplace for open source products and services, will feature
exhibits from the likes of Compaq, Computer Associates, HP and
IBM.

LinuxWorld will also feature a panel discussion titled “Building
the Foundation for World Domination: Free Standards for Global
Markets & Individual Empowerment.” The discussion, hosted by
Scott McNeil, executive director of The Free Standards Group, will
include real world examples presented by leading companies that
have implemented Linux standards.

“There is no question that Linux is all grown up – just take a
look at this year’s keynote lineup,” said Charlie Greco, president
and CEO of IDG World Expo. “We selected IT’s most respected leaders
to share their vision of Linux. This is an exciting time for the
Linux community, and IDG World Expo is proud to promote the
platform’s continued success by providing an interactive forum for
members of this community to exchange ideas.”
