“The final 1.0 version of the DemoLinux CD is out.”

DemoLinux is an installationless CD that allows to run on
most PCs a preconfigured Linux distribution directly from the CD,
with graphical user interface, mouse, modem and network
support.
All this without touching your hard disk. Or even
without a hard disk. That makes a perfect tool to show Linux to
curious Windows users, but it has many different applications, like
a full rescue disk for crashed systems.”

Version 1.0, based on a Mandrake 5.3 distribution which has been
largely updated (2.2.11 kernel, recent X server etc.), has been
distributed freely at Linux Expo in France on February 1st, and is
now available for download from www.demolinux.org. If you cannot
write your own DemoLinux CD, it is now possible to get one from
Ikarios, with a very nice collector’s cover (while supplies
last).”
