Gildot is a Slashdot-like forum that has become the primary
non-commercial meeting place of the portuguese-speaking Linux and
Open-Source communities.
In it’s seven-month existence the
site has posted more than 1100 articles and has recently surpassed
one million hits.”

“Gildot was started as a project of GIL – Grupo de
Investigação Linux but has since evolved to encompass
an increasing representativeness in the comunity.”

“A major point in that evolution was the decision by PLUG –
Portuguese Linux Users Group to discontinue it’s own similar effort
and redirecting it’s users to Gildot.”
