“On the occasion of PAUL’s launching during the Systems, the
prototype of ID-PRO’s communication server will come under the
hammer – signed by several well-known community members. On
Thursday, 19 October 2000, bidding will start in the Internet at
http://ID-PRO.com/auction/. The server is shaped like a prism and
is solely based on Open-Source-Software, which is why the proceeds
will benefit the Open-Source Community.”

PAUL is a communication server which makes all commom
Internet services, such as email, WWW and FTP available to its
environment. Additionally, its integrated intranet server provides
an ideal platform for internal communication.
Furthermore,
PAUL is a fax server. In order to protect the internal network, it
includes an IP-Firewall, which can be tailored by ID-PRO on demand.
The administration software enables the user to administrate
networks without detailed knowledge of the peculiarities of
hardware and operating system. Standards like CIM, XML and HTTP are
used in this context. The software is subject to the GNU General
Public License….”
