“Miva Corporation today announced that Internet Research
Institute, Inc. (IRI) and Sumitomo Corporation joined forces to
make a multi-million dollar investment in Miva, a leading provider
of open source e-commerce software. As part of the transaction, IRI
and Sumitomo will use their collective marketing resources to
assist with Miva’s expansion into the Japanese market.”

“Miva recently announced the opening of a Munich-based office to
better service the growing market demands for e-commerce services
in Western Europe.”

“We are extremely pleased that IRI and Sumitomo have recognized
the value of Miva’s products,” said Joe Austin, president and CEO,
Miva Corporation. “Aided by this new capital, we will continue to
expand our market reach for our browser-based storefront
development and management system.”
