Covalent Technologies announces selection of new
CEO.

“Covalent Technologies, Inc. announced today the selection of
John M. Jack as President & Chief Executive Officer, effective
August 1, 2000. Mr. Jack succeeds Randy Terbush, Covalent’s
founder, who will continue as Chief Technology Officer after
serving as CEO since 1994. Mr. Jack, age 45, was most recently
President & CEO of Shaman Corporation and is a former executive
with Sybase, Inc. and The Vantive Corporation, now part of
PeopleSoft.”

“With this decision, we have ensured our company’s continuing
leadership in providing value-added products and support for the
Apache Web server,” said Mr. Terbush. “John is a perfect match with
the requirements our Board identified in a comprehensive search for
a CEO. In John, we have found a leader with exceptional
