LinuxPR: Jungo Announces The Up Coming Release of Version 5.0 of Its Driver Dev

Jungo announces the up coming release of version 5.0 of its
successful driver development tools – WinDriver and KernelDriver.
Version 5.0 provides WinDriver’s graphical Wizard for Linux and new
graphical tools for KernelDriver which automates the kernel mode
driver code generation.

“WinDriver for Linux is a device driver development toolkit,
which enables you to develop Linux device drivers for PCI / ISA /
ISAPnP and EISA hardware (including serial and parallel ports),
without having to be familiar with the Linux kernel. All
development is done in the user mode using your regular development
environment. A Linux driver written using WinDriver is source
compatible to Solaris, Windows 2000/NT, 98/95, Windows CE, NT
Embedded, OS/2 and VxWorks. Just recompile and run!”

“WinDriver is based on a generic device driver which resides in
the Linux kernel. Your application calls WinDriver kernel module
through a user mode API, thereby eliminating the need to learn and
understand the Linux internals. WinDriver enables you to write and
debug all your hardware access code in the user mode, eliminating
the need for long and tedious kernel code writing and
debugging.”
