“MontaVista Software, Inc., developer of the Hard Hat Linux
operating system for embedded applications and IBM announced the
availability of VisualAge Micro Edition (VAME) for Hard Hat Linux
by MontaVista. VAME is an integrated development environment with
runtime components incorporating IBM’s latest embedded
JavaTM technology, the J9 Virtual Machine.”

“VisualAge Micro Edition provides developers of embedded
applications with a complete set of tools for the creation, testing
and deployment of embedded Java applications. In this first
release, MontaVista has observed a significant performance
improvement over other Virtual Machines tested on Hard Hat
Linux.”
