Its a win win win. People want these books. It raises funds
for a good cause. And it tells Amazon what we think as a
community.

“GeekCast.Com and The Linux(r) Show!! are pleased to announce a
fundraiser for The Benevolent Penguin Society…This is a link to
some of the books by the friends of The Linux(r) Show!!, as well as
some of the more popular books in the Linux Community.”

“Jeff Gerhardt host and executive producer of The Linux(r)
Show!!, commented, “This is a great opportunity that is sort of
what you might call a three edge knife. It gives people a chance to
buy the books from the people in the community they want, it tells
Amazon what you think of them and does a good thing by helping
raise funds. Something like 50% of the net proceeds will go to the
fund. Helping schools in economically disadvantaged areas to deploy
LANs and connect those LANs to the Internet, is a pet project of
BPS and we are happy to be doing more find raising for that effort.
This project will also provide members of our Linux community the
opportunity to reach out to the entire country and show them the
possible options Linux portends for the future of education.”
