Heterogeneous Networks from an Economical Linus Server.

“Workstation Solutions, supplier of the flexible and easy-to-use
Quick Restore(tm) backup and recovery solution, today announced
Quick Restore 2.6, the first centrally administered,
enterprise-ready,network backup system for Red Hat(R) Linux servers
and clients. Linux-based Quick Restore backup servers can manage
backup and recovery in networks of Linux, Windows NT, commercial
UNIX(R) and Network Appliance(tm) systems. Quick Restore on Linux
is seamlessly integrated with all other platforms, allowing backup
and recovery of UNIX, Windows NT(R) or Network Appliance data to
tape libraries attached to Linux servers.”

“We chose Quick Restore because it can back up our Auspex(R)
file servers to multiple tape libraries, maximizing our equipment
investment and keeping us well within our backups windows,” said
Kirk Patton, System Administrator at Advanced Micro Devices. “Now,
the availability of the Quick Restore server on Linux enables us to
move to a Linux-centric environment, resulting in significant
savings in server hardware.”
