“XStream Logic, an innovator in the development of
next-generation network processors, today announced that it has
signed a development partnership agreement with MontaVista
Software, a supplier of Hard Hat Linux for embedded applications,
to provide an optimized Linux implementation and Linux development
tool support for XStream Logic’s network processor family.
Under the agreement, both companies will jointly develop
high-performance Linux-based solutions targeting networking and
storage applications.

“We are very pleased to announce this development partnership
agreement with MontaVista Software, the established leader in
real-time embedded Linux technology,” said Ron Barr, VP of
Marketing for XStream Logic. “MontaVista’s team has a proven track
record for creating powerful software development tools and
real-time software. The combination of MontaVista’s Hard Hat Linux
and associated development tools optimized for XStream Logic’s
upcoming family of high-performance network processors will provide
our customers with a robust development and operating system
environment that will dramatically improve their product
reliability and time-to-market.”

“Developers of next-generation networking and storage devices
are looking for network processor solutions that provide
high-performance packet processing capabilities combined with a
proven software environment and powerful development tools.
Existing network processor solutions tend to be restricted by
complex programming environments and limited debugging
capabilities.”
