LinuxStart.Com Rolls Out Linux Portal

LinuxStart.Com aims to be the only portal a Linux user needs. We have a
comprehensive search engine, Slashdot and Freshmeat "news", latest
up-to-the minute headlines, and offer free web hosting for other Linux,
OSS, and FreeBSD sites.

We believe our search engine is the most comprehensive on the 'net and we
are working on new functionality and indexing methodologies daily.

First and foremost, LinuxStart.Com is the most user-friendly engine and
Linux Portal on the Net.

As Linux gains desktop marketshare, newbies and regular users alike are
going to need an "easy" searching method -- all searchable databases and
knowledge bases about Linux, today, produce listings that are only
decipherable to Linux users and people with computer experience. This is
not the case at LinuxStart.Com

We are multi-lingual as well - with capabilities to view only the language
that one wants to see (coming soon!).

We have a "Remote URL entry team" who post new links everyday ^Ö some in
languages other than English, so they are adding links for those languages
respectively. Our team was recruited from people who were simply
interested in helping out. We want to emphasize this community aspect and
stress that we are not money driven. While we run banner ads simply to
keep us alive, we have turned down offers for co-marketing endeavors, for
we don't believe in being biased to certain products/vendors simply because
they paid us.

Future Plans:
- A "My Netscape" type feature ("My LinuxStart"?) where users' settings
will be stored in cookies and then when one comes back, all their
preferences will be the same as they left them. This is very useful as far
as languages go - as user can simply click "French" or "English" and only
view that language while they are navigating the site.

- Free Email

- More categories w/ more intuitive structure.

- Plus much more!
