“Caldera Systems today announced that its network orientated
Linux management solution is entering open beta. The solution,
formerly known as Cosmos, remotely manages networked Linux systems,
of any distribution. The software is now available for download
from Caldera’s Web site at www.calderasystems.com/beta/.”

Caldera’s Linux management solution is a browser and
directory based management product for Linux systems that utilizes
the strengths of LDAP directories.
Using this solution,
network administrators can use policies and profiles to manage
thousands of Linux systems from their desktop.”

“Caldera’s Linux management solution dramatically reduces the
cost, time and effort typically associated with network
management,” said Paul Smith, network engineer from CPC Computing,
a beta site. “And because it supports any version of Linux, it
opens the door to unifying entire Linux-networked systems for any
organization.”
