“Rapid Application Development does not mean “do it as fast
as you can and don’t plan ahead”. RAD is a paradigm. It depends
upon the toolkit you use too. With the Tool Command Language and
the tk extension, you can offer your customers fast turnaround
times and still with the objective of no bugs. There is no
compilation process performed, tcl is interpreted so you can fix
problems and re-test immediately.”
“In addition, TCL is great for those projects where you already
have applications that perform tasks but somehow there is a lack of
integration between or among them. TCL can be the glue that puts
them together in that special way so that you have a new, better
way of looking at that problem. Let’s take a look at two programs
to see what type of things I have done.”
“Writing programs in tcl is not very difficult. In fact, it is
alot of fun if you know what you want and plan ahead. What I did is
first design the user interface and then write the actual code.
That motivated me. I saw what the final program would look like and
said “Wow.” And that makes anyone want to write the program to
implement it.”
