order.”

“The subject will be the new user interface shown in developers’
previews 3 and 4 of MacOs X. If the rest of the introductory
background seems brisk to the point of brusque it’s because my
orginal intro kept getting longer and more convoluted every time I
worked on it. Macworld might’ve been over before you finished
reading it.”

Reactions, both pro and con, after the demo of DP4 at the
June WWDC were more extreme than justified. It was an Apple,
preview, demo.

“…If you hated something about the preview, reread the above
and keep the problems in perspective. On the other hand if you
didn’t have some complaint with it, I think you’re being overly
generous.”
