“For the uninformed, Freespire is a new product released to the
community by the Linux distributor Linspire. What makes Freespire
so unique is their very blatant decision to include open source and
proprietary software under one hat.

“Whether you read about it in a weblog or at Groklaw, there is a
fair amount of frustration with the inclusion of closed source code
being offered within the Freespire OS. What makes this comical is
that the target market for Freespire honestly could not care less.
The fact remains that so long as the OS works as expected, any
potential ‘threat’ of open source causality is overlooked…”
