Jacques Le Marois
writes:

The Linux-Mandrake user community create a new forum
alt.os.linux.mandrake.

The reason of the creation is explained in the proposal:

“Provides a platform for discussion for users of the Mandrake
Linux Distribution (http://www.linux-mandrake.com)”

Mandrake Linux is becomming a quite popular Linux Distribution
(second place in selling charts). The provided mailing-lists
‘mandrake-newbie’ and ‘mandrake-expert’ are overcrowded (up to 30
posts in 12 hours at each list).
Although Mandrake Linux is derived from Redhat, which is good
covered in Usenet, it evolved to a distribution with its own
standing and peculiarities. Since it is especially designed for
people completely new to any kind of OS apart from Redmond’s, there
is a considerable urge for a forum like the proposed one.
alt.os.linux.mandrake would line up well with groups like
alt.os.linux.slackware and alt.os.linux.caldera.

Please consider this proposal and post your comments.

Thank you!

Tom Berger”
