Mandrake Beta 3 Is Out

MandrakeSoft is proud to announce that the beta 3 of the
upcoming Mandrake Linux 8.1, “Raklet”, has hit the mirrors.
Sticking to the path opened by the 8.0 version, Mandrake Linux 8.1
Beta 3 provides a bunch of innovations, more user-friendly and
breathtaking tools, and –as always with a Mandrake distribution–
highly up-to-date software.

Changes and improvements since the beta2:

New software:

GRio500 (Mp3 player Rio 500 synchronizer)

Reworked DiskDrake (disk partitioner) that now allows the configuration of network filesystems (Samba or NFS) mount points.

New Mandrake Server Wizards: Professional configuration wizards to allow fast and enhanced enterprise server setup.

Gnomemeeting 0.10 (Video conferencing software H323 compatible)

Libsafe (Stack Overflow protection), for increased security.

Bug fixes:

* LVM
* Fstab corrected for a better removable medias management
* Ext3 (now usable on a / partition)
* Devfsd
* RpmDrake
* KDE-nsplugins


CAUTION: JFS is back but still buggy.
