“Surprise! Our developers have decided to skip yet
another weekend, and managed to put out a fourth beta of the
upcoming Mandrake Linux 8.2 while nobody from the management was
looking… Beta3 already worked quite nicely on most of the
hardware, and this one should be even better: the annoying bug
which prevented changing of CDs during installation has been
squished, together with a myriad of smaller, but still annoying
bugs.

As this beta has been finished VERY early this morning, everyone
who knows exactly what has been done is “unreachable” at the
moment. On the other hand, I’ve been running the “cooker” with
daily updates during the last few days, and what I saw is an
“almost ready to go” distribution. Try it yourself: The list of the
mirrors holding the ISO images of the fourth beta is available on
the Mandrake Linux site.”
