“While some may question whether the Linux operating system will
become a serious threat to Microsoft Windows, Scott Shaw is not
among them.”

“Three months ago, he founded Antarctica Information Technology
Inc., which he believes is the first Linux-dedicated consulting
firm in New England.”

“We’re looking to be a regional player with on-site
consultants,” said Shaw, who got his start as a project manager at
the former Coopers & Lybrand.”

The principle of the Linux movement is cooperation –
programmers collaborating on-line to solve problems. But it isn’t
always practical for businesses to go that route.”
