It’s official! The highly anticipated Linux Mint 16 (Petra) will include the yet-to-be-released Cinnamon 2.0 and MATE 1.8 desktop environments, as the Linux Mint developer revealed in a recent blog post. Linux Mint 16 will be dubbed Petra, and it will be officially available for download by the end of November 2013. The operating system will be distributed in separate editions, with the Cinnamon, MATE, KDE and Xfce desktop environments. Support for both 64-bit and 32-bit architectures will be provided.
