Larry J. Blunk writes:

Well, Microsoft has done it. The have put up a FUD-filled
article touting the Mindcraft study on their “Daily News” site and
are running banner ads linking to the article all over the
place.

“Windows NT Server 4.0 faster, more scalable than Linux as a
file and Web server, tests show”

“Tests done by Mindcraft, an independent testing lab, found that
Microsoft® Windows NT® Server 4.0 is 2.5 times faster than
Linux as a file server and 3.7 times faster as a Web server.
Comparing comparable Linux and Windows NT Server-based systems,
Mindcraft found that Windows NT Server 4.0 could handle more
requests and test systems while maintaining a higher level of
performance. Windows NT Server 4.0 also reached a higher peak
performance as both a Web and file server.”
