“…three major commercial Linux publishers have released
upgrades of their distributions, including a lot more than a new
kernel.” – A review of latest releases from Caldera, Red Hat, and
SuSE.”

“Introducing (in alphabetical order) Caldera Open Linux 2.2, Red
Hat Linux 6.0 and SuSE Linux 6.1. All three take advantage of the
new kernel while addressing the main complaints of Linux to date:
the lack of a common desktop ‘look,’ difficulty of installation and
the absence of formal product support.”

“Each one of these distributions will allow you to tap into the
ever-improving power of the Linux operating system. Despite the
minor glitches I encountered, I think they?re all better than their
previous versions of just a few months ago. I?m also glad to see
that the KDE and/or Gnome desktops are included in these
distributions. It?s getting easier to go from Caldera to Red Hat to
SuSE (or Slackware, or Debian) and know exactly what to
expect.”
