MTI Technology Corporation today announced that it has signed a letter
of intent for the placement of investment capital in Caldera Systems
Inc. MTI Technology Corp. is the premier provider of high-performance,
cross-platform data storage management solutions for the enterprise and
is based in Anaheim California.

Caldera Systems is the recognized leader of "Linux for Business"
solutions, services, training and certification with proven, tested,
stable and supported OpenLinux technologies.Caldera Systems has offices
in Orem, UT and Erlangen Germany. Caldera Systems was the first Linux
company to create a Linux VAR channel-now the industry standard with
over 500 resellers worldwide. Caldera Systems, Inc. is a Canopy Group
holding under the Ray Noorda/Canopy Group Investment Company. Ray Noorda
is the former CEO of Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL)

A formal announcement will be forthcoming next week at Linuxworld in San
Jose CA. March 1st.
