“Fucom Computer, a Hong Kong Internet technology provider for
both the consumer and commercial markets, announced the official
roll-out of its DataCross shipping management system for the
shipping industry.”

“”Since our DataCross is developed on open-source
technologies like Java technology and Linux, development cost is
minimal,” said Dennis Chung, general manager of Fucom
Computer.
“Besides, what gives us an edge over competitors is
that the shipping company owns total control of the kind of
information and the customer database. No customer name will be
posted on the system and our solution can assure them of data
privacy and against hacking. It acts like a firewall to protect
their most valuable asset client base and business
information.””
