“While interest in Linux grows amongst organisations, Telstra
and Optus are still refusing to support the open source operating
system for users of their broadband services.

“Linux has attracted growing interest in the corporate and
government sectors this year, but both the two top telcos said they
did not have enough customers on Linux to justify the provision of
technical support.

“Telstra spokeswoman Kerrina Lawrence said the decision was
based on both the percentage of customers and the technical
