NEWS FLASH: Kyoto Sangyo University orders 603-server Linux system

According to today’s Japan Computer News, a subscription
service, Kyoto Sangyo University has ordered a Linux-based system
from IBM Japan and FUJI Xerox for educational data processing which
will consist of 603 Netfinity 3000 PC servers and one Netfinity
5000 management server and it will be put into operation starting
in April 1999. FUJI Xerox will do the system integration,
maintenance and operations on the IBM-supplied system. The system
is being introduced in anticipation of an increased number of
students wanting to study data processing.
