“NetPort Hospitality Systems, a Sydney-based outfit that has
been trying to talk hotels and airports into installing its
Internet connection system in guest rooms and lounges, has changed
its name and its connection system.”

“Following a $9 million cash injection from Hong Kong-based
Telecom Venture Group (TVG), NetPort will henceforth be known as
Inter-touch.”

“It has also relaunched its proprietary Internet access product
with a more universal Ethernet-based system to which almost any
laptop, including Macs, Solaris, Unix and Linux devices, can be
simply connected. Instant links to the Net at up to 100MHz are
claimed, using Cisco switches and Linux servers.”
