for the upstart open-source OS, a momentum that Newsbytes notes Red
Hat has had a significant part in building.”

US distributor of Linux, although distributions by SuSE, in Europe,
and TurboLinux by Pacific Hi Tech in Japan and Asia, claim top
distributor status outside the US. In a recent LinuxWorld survey,
74 percent of about 4,000 respondents cited Red Hat as the most
recognized Linux vendor.”
