Dataquest senior analyst Kim Brown, an analyst at Gartner
Group’s Dataquest division spoke with Newsbytes on the possible

“Solaris is vastly far ahead of NT, probably years ahead.”

“It’s unbelievable, the nerve Microsoft has naming NT after the
year 2000. They’re not even going to deliver it for another year or

unbelievable.”

“I’m excited by Linux not because I think people are going to

forces in the marketplace to turn to Linux as the basic
plumbing.”

“And what hardware company stands to gain the most if the basic
OS goes to zero cost? Intel.”
