ownCloud joins the Linux Foundation – Frank Karlitschek, owner and CTO of ownCloud, has announced that his company has joined the Linux Foundation as a member. The company has joined at the Silver level, which is the same tier that Red Hat and Canonical currently occupy.

Nearly there – The Mageia developers have published the release candidate for the soon-to-be-released Mageia 3. According to the team, the developers are fixing the last critical bugs and the final version should arrive on 3 May. Detailed release notes are available from the Mageia wiki.
