“Many of you have likely heard of or even used open source
software at one time or another, but I’m constantly surprised at
how many people are unaware of the benefits and opportunities open
source software presents to us, especially being poor university
students.

“For those readers who don’t know what I’m talking about when I
refer to open source software, it is basically free, fully
developed software to be used, mostly for what I’m going to talk
about here, on your computer, but also for gadgets from cell phones
to PDAs…”
