OpenMandriva Lx 3.0 Goes Stable with KDE Plasma 5.6.5 and Linux Kernel 4.6.5

Powered by a kernel from the Linux 4.6 series, version 4.6.5 at the moment of the release, OpenMandriva Lx 3.0 comes with the newest systemd 231 init system, and uses KDE Plasma 5.6.5 as default desktop environments, along with the KDE Applications 16.04.3 software suite, and KDE Frameworks 5.24.0 collection of add-ons for the Qt GUI toolkit. Taking a closer look under the hood of OpenMandriva Lx 3.0, we can notice an updated graphics stack based on the latest X.Org Server 1.18.3 and Mesa 12.0.1 3D Graphics Library, support for Samsung’s F2FS file system for SSD disk drives, the implementation of Python 3.x support for Python packages, and the rebase of the entire distribution on the LLVM/Clang compiler.
