OSOpinion: GUI for Linux: The Mozilla Project

Thanks to Kelly
McNeill
for this link.

“With the release of Communicator 5.0 coming upon us, I stop and
wonder what will come next. What should come next. The answer I get
is that the Mozilla Project should look at writing an awesome GUI
for Linux using the same techniques they have used for Communicator
5.0. An OS GUI built from the fruits of their labor, made of XUL
and rendered by the NGLayout engine.”

“There are no really pretty faces preexisting for Linux, and
such a project would be a rather large undertaking, but when you
think about it, much of the work has already been done, and since
everything is open-source, would go even better.”
